So, in preparation of Islah’s arrival in August, Hubby and I have started going through our storage/space challenged house and getting rid of everything we either don’t use/wear or plan to replace and cleaning like a mofo.
4 months before I’m due might seem a little premature for this, however, if you’d seen our house before we started, you would understand. xD
So, I’m going to try to do a room every day/few days since there is just THAT much to do. Yesterday I did our bedroom.Please note, we do intend to start some extensive renovations once our roof is finished in June/July.
This is our bedroom now;
Our little bed area in what was formerly, the small bathroom. We ripped out the old bathroom and the wall between it and our bedroom which gave us this little alcove. Than we continued the laminate flooring in there. The bed looks roughly built right now, but eventually it will be a pretty, handmade captains bed. Eventually we will also replace all our old windows, put up drywall, paint,make a DIY headboard etc.
Andd the rest of our little bedroom. There were windows at the peak of the ceiling on that wall but we filled them all in due to insulation issues during the winter. There’s a window to the left of that chair too.
Eventually I will reupholster that chair because it’s super comfy, but ugly.
Once the captains bed is finished, that tall dresser will go bye bye and a long feminine one will replace it The closet will also be ripped out, redone, made a bit longer and an actual door will go on it.
It looks a little bare right now, but compared to being over stuffed with shit piled everywhere collecting dust, it’s definitely a much needed change, and it definitely allows us more than enough room to stick Islah’s bassinet in here for the first few months while we finish renovating the nursery.
Also, my conehead puppy says Hi.<3
That’s it for this time!
I might start on our bathroom/Laundry room today.Another rough work in progress;)
